October 2015Mazda announced the finalist for the 2015 Mazda Road to 24 Shootout. The finalists are competing for a $100,000 scholarship to drive the 2016 Battery Tender Mazda MX-5 Cup. November 2015A study by the California State University Monterey Bay showed that the recent race events at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca contributed $62.1 million to the Monterey County economy. Glenn McGee wins the 2015 Mazda Road to 24 Shootout. December 2015December 5, 2015: National Auto Sport Association’s 25 Hours of Thunderhill. The Mazda team raced new 2016 Battery Tender Mazda MX-5 Cup spec cars. This one race is the equivalent of two full seasons of MX-5 Cup car testing.
